Psychotherapy Well-being involves having a good awareness of and connection with your self and good connections with others. If you have spent any amount of time and effort trying not to know your own experience or are lost in negative self evaluation – regardless of your method of distraction, or if you have lost your curiosity about the world, face roadblocks or obstacles to your creativity and want to reclaim a sense of aliveness, vitality, purpose or optimism – then I believe I can be of help to you. I have expertise working with concerns around disordered eating, anxiety, depression, men’s and women’s issues, gay and lesbian issues, self-esteem, and relationships. My background includes working as a staff psychologist in college and community settings and teaching in graduate psychology programs.

I co-host a radio show on KCSN and I have co-authored a book on women oppressing women. I am a public speaker and conduct continuing education training seminars for mental health professionals regionally and nationally. My goal is to help you navigate your way while helping you reclaim your authentic self.’ Scheduling / Fees / Payment Most appointments are scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Saturday. Most individuals schedule an appointment a minimum of once weekly.

Other arrangements can be made as some individuals prefer to schedule appointments two to three times per week. I also offer a flexible schedule with sessions ranging from one to two hours in length. To make an appointment, or to speak to me directly, I can be reached at 310-477-3242. For specific contact information, please visit the contact page.

Fees vary depending on the service provided. Payment is due at the time of service. I accept personal check or cash. Likewise, I work with several insurance plans to coordinate payment for outpatient psychotherapy.

It is important for you to contact you insurance company and inquire about your specific mental health “out of network” benefits. I am happy to provide you with a statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, as my fees are due at the time of service. Seminars/Study Groups Study groups centered on how to integrate and apply neuroscience research and concepts in psychotherapy are now forming. Groups to be held on Tuesday mornings in west Los Angeles and Saturday mornings in Sherman Oaks beginning in June 2009.

Study groups can also be arranged via teleconference or using other related computer technology. Please send me an email via the contact page to let me know of your interest. Consultations I am available for individual consultation related to clinical work or professional development issues including practice building strategies.
